Created by the Central Toronto Youth Services, the R.I.T.E.S. ( Resilience, Identity, Transformation, Empowerment and Self-Determination) Program is a culturally specific, identity development initiative that supports the empowerment of Black and African Canadian children, youth and their families.

 

Key Programs & Services

  • R.I.T.E.S. for Group Program - Serves to develop effective coping strategies using an Africentric lens by incorporating evidence-based research on Anti-Black racism, mental health, wellness and stress management. For more infotmation contact:  rites.intake@ctys.org

  • R.I.T.E.S. for Black and African-Canadian Youth Program - An identity development initiative empowering Black and African-Canadian youth (ages 12–17) through a comprehensive support system, including access to clinical mental health programs and resources.   • R.I.T.E.S. Indivdual Counseling Program - A culturally specific counselling service that supports African Canadian and Black youth, ages of 12 and 17. For more information contact: kevin.rambally@ctys.org

  • R.I.T.E.S. Youth Justice Pilot Program - For Black youth in Toronto involved in the justice system, this program supports individual needs using an Africentric, trauma-informed, and anti-oppression approach, grounded in research on leadership, identity, and anti-Black racism.
